The cultural dimension examines the interaction between cultural heritage and local communities, whereas interactions between local communities and cultural heritage are rarely carried out. To overcome this void, this study will discuss how the Sangiran people interpret the cultural heritage in their environment. This study aims to reveal the community's knowledge system in interpreting the Sangiran site and how they act using this knowledge system. Research on such knowledge systems is critical to understanding how people think when representing their culture. Data collection methods include literature studies, surveys, and interviews with an ethnographic approach to describe social and cultural phenomena in society. The results of this study indicate the meaning of the Sangiran community has shifted from magical values to economic values, and now it is more on the importance of science.
