Cultural Landscapes as a Heritage Strategy to Empower Local Communities in Indonesia
摘要
This chapter delves into the empowering potential of the cultural landscape approach in heritage management for local communities. Responding to the challenges posed by globalization, decolonization, and climate change, the author proposes a departure from conventional material-based conservation practices toward a holistic approach that embraces both tangible and intangible heritage values. Asian and Indonesian developments are addressed within a global context of heritage management, and the cultural landscape of the Banda Islands in the Maluku province serve as an illustrative example of the effectiveness of this approach.
