Implementation of IoT-Based Smart Air Pollution Monitoring System for Environment Sustainability
摘要
The environment is increasingly threatened by air pollution due to the uncontrolled explorer of toxic gases from vehicles. Daily air pollution increases lung diseases including bronchitis and asthma. Air pollution is caused by harmful pollutants including oxides of nitrogen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulphur oxides and hydrocarbons. In this context, these pollutants are caused by incomplete fuel burning in the automobile engine. In this study, a cost-effective and simple approach has been demonstrated for detecting and monitoring the air pollution level by employing an Internet of Things-based electronics system which can be embedded in a vehicle. Oxides of nitrogen and carbon monoxide are the main pollutants detected by these sensors. The “Arduino” microcontroller is used to measure the threshold level to maintain toxic gases emitted from vehicle, and if the toxic gas emissions exceed the safety limit, a warning will be sent to the user.
