In Egypt, maize is a significant summer cereal crop for food and feed utilization. Anticipated climate change is recognized to adversely affect maize productivity in Egypt. Consequently, the appropriate planting date and the precise application of irrigation will significantly influence maize productivity in the context of climate change. In this chapter, the impact of three planting dates and three irrigation levels on maize grain, and biological yields, as well as water productivity was simulated, utilizing the AquaCrop version 7.1 model and data from a 2-year field experiment. Following model validation, data from the CMIP6 mean projection for the SSP5-8.5 future scenario across two time intervals, specifically 2020–2039 and 2040–2059, were used to run the model and estimate anticipated losses in maize grain and biological yields under the examined future scenario.

摘要
