The Walrasian equilibrium of perfectly competitive economies is the standard classical formalization of market transactions and the valuation of goods and services that take place in perfectly competitive markets. This chapter examines another classical equilibrium concept, originally introduced by Edgeworth, in relation to Walrasian equilibria. The Edgeworth equilibrium is based on perfect competition in market transactions without imposing a market institutional framework that generates uniform prices for goods and services traded in markets.

摘要

The Walrasian equilibrium of perfectly competitive economies is the standard classical formalization of market transactions and the valuation of goods and services that take place in perfectly competitive markets. This chapter examines another classical equilibrium concept, originally introduced by Edgeworth, in relation to Walrasian equilibria. The Edgeworth equilibrium is based on perfect competition in market transactions without imposing a market institutional framework that generates uniform prices for goods and services traded in markets.
