This chapter is concerned with the Walrasian equilibria of economies. It is focused on a most foundational question in economic theoretical analysis: the existence of market equilibria of economies. In order to address this question, the chapter abstracts economies from their production possibilities. This allows the redistribution of existing and produced commodities to be brought to the fore in the analysis. The production possibilities of economies will be taken into consideration in the following chapter.
