The healthcare industry has fundamentally altered as a result of expanding in volume, velocity, and value of digitized patients’ physiological data due to various security concerns. While there are numerous advantages to technology, such as the capacity to identify illnesses early and provide patients with chronic conditions with medication on demand, there are also significant security dangers associated with it. These dangers include the potential for patient mortality in the event of a privacy infringement or the potential for wireless connections to expose private information to interception attacks. Furthermore, it is challenging to implement typical security techniques like encryption on medical equipment due to its low computation, storage, and energy capabilities, as well as its heterogeneous connectivity. Thus, to ensure information integrity, strong safety precautions need to be implemented, including accessibility and privacy during data collection, transport, storage, etc. The present paper reviews the existing techniques for secure data transfer for medical applications. Implementing secure data transfer based on blockchain techniques can offer an additional security solution that is customized to the specifics of a medical database management system. A novel Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) scheme for blockchain environments is proposed to strengthen security while maintaining user convenience.

摘要
