In addition to rock shelter paintings and murals in Buddhist shrines, Archaeological sites throughout the Greater Gandhāra region have generally yielded important evidence of Buddhist paintings on everyday objects used for both domestic and ceremonial purposes. The recent discovery of such vessels in the Bajaur area of ancient Gandhāra exemplifies this. While the function of these vessels and the significance of their paintings remain under investigation, this chapter focuses on determining their precise origin, style, and date by analyzing contemporary evidence found alongside them.
