This chapter focuses on the internationalization of higher education, specifically Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) and Virtual Exchange (VE) as tools for developing students’ cultural agility. It explores both the impact of COIL and VE, offering insights into successful internationalization initiatives and addressing challenges faced in the process and the benefits and challenges of these approaches, emphasizing the importance of internationalization for students’ global competence. The chapter underscores the significance of internationalization and examines the distinctions and interplay between globalization and internationalization. It identifies existing disparities in higher education access and proposes strategies for bridging these gaps, emphasizing the role of COIL and VE in promoting cultural agility. The chapter concludes by highlighting policy implications and offering recommendations for future directions to advance internationalization efforts in Moroccan higher education, focusing on challenges related to funding, language barriers, differing educational systems, administrative complexities, and resistance to change.
