After 60 years of evolution and propelled by the new theories and technologies such as mobile Internet, big data, supercomputing, sensor networks, brain science and the considerable demands for economic and social development, AI is now booming with its new features—deep learning, cross-field integration, human–machine collaboration, collective intelligence openness and autonomous control. Big data-driven knowledge learning, cross-media collaborative processing, human–machine cooperation enhanced intelligence, integrated intelligence and autonomous intelligence systems have become the focuses of AI development. Brain-like intelligence inspired by the research outcome of brain science is maturing, and with an increasing trend of chip-, software- and platform-oriented advancement, AI ushers in a new era of development.
