The advent of artificial intelligence use in the ASEAN Region has been catalyzed by the digital economy as we start to access information in greater breadth and depth while accelerating at a pace that complements the demands of the healthcare industry. This paper utilized qualitative analysis by comparing the state of data protection laws in the ASEAN region, identified applicable ISO/IEC 27001 and 42001 requirements for cybersecurity themes and responsible artificial intelligence use in healthcare institutions, and discussed continual improvement points for the data protection laws, information security and artificial intelligence management system controls as it applies to the healthcare industry. Sectoral analysis in healthcare institutions’ use of AI tools focused on the cybersecurity capability, countermeasures, and mitigation strategies and responsible artificial intelligence use. National data protection authorities of each ASEAN country need to provide guidance documents on the management of AI-powered applications based on readily available standards.

摘要
