Examination of Double Balanced Gilbert Cell Mixer Performance RF Design Trade-Offs Perspective
摘要
RF circuit developers need to be very careful during various system design phases. A thorough investigation on the trade-offs inherent in RF system design focusing on power, supply voltage, noise, linearity, gain, and frequency considerations need be done before implementation of the same. A simulation-based analysis using ADS tools on various parameter combinations is explored in this chapter to understand their impact on the overall system performance. A critical block, RF mixer in the receiver front end is considered for evaluation with reference to various VLSI process nodes at various design parameters to understand the dependence of numerous performance metrics like conversion gain, noise figure, intercept, as well as compression points. The findings of this work offer insights into enhance RF design parameters to achieve desired performance characteristics.
