Mobile Application for Object Height Measurement

In this work, an approach for object height measurement has been proposed, which is crucial for quick and accurate data collection. It simplifies processes, saving time and resources by eliminating the need for physical measuring tools. In professional fields like construction and surveying, it enhances efficiency and precision. The objective is to develop an application capable of accurately selecting an object and measuring its height using Android Studio. This mobile application feature allows users to measure the height of physical objects using their smartphone camera, leveraging image processing algorithms, computer vision, and geometric calculations. The selected object can be detected within the bounded region of the image with the use of pre-defined dimensions of the reference object in a highlighted rectangular box. It eliminates the need for external tools with real-time processing; the software delivers immediate height measurements, enhancing user experience and efficiency, and leverages advanced algorithms like computer vision for high accuracy. Additionally, the software is highly scalable, allowing integration into various apps, from home improvement to augmented reality (AR), expanding its use across multiple industries.
