In recent decades, a lot of research has been conducted on techniques for securing fixtures in cargo transportation. This paper provides an overview of existing literature on cargo container fixtures for its safe transport. The present paper highlights the various fastening techniques used in cargo transportation, including the impact of dynamic loads on the cargo containers. Initial costs of packing, transportation modes, and safe design are important parameters in deciding the fastening techniques. From the extensive literature survey, fixture techniques including strap and latch are found to be more reliable and cost-effective for the cargo transportation.
