The emergence of quantum computing has introduced both opportunities and obstacles for contemporary cryptography systems, particularly in blockchain security. Conventional digital signature methods, such as Rivest-Shamir-Adleman (RSA) and Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC), that support blockchain protocols are susceptible to quantum algorithms such as Shor’s algorithm. This has necessitated the development of quantum-resistant cryptographic protocols to ensure the long-term integrity, authenticity, and security of blockchain networks. This chapter examines quantum-enhanced digital signatures (QEDS), which utilize quantum cryptography to offer superior security for blockchain systems. Unlike conventional cryptographic approaches, QEDS utilizes principles of quantum physics, such as superposition and entanglement, to enhance resistance to quantum threats. Critical methodologies, such as quantum key distribution (QKD) and quantum digital signatures (QDS), are examined for their implementation, security benefits, and practicality for blockchain integration. This chapter examines the contrast between post-quantum cryptography solutions and quantum-enhanced approaches, emphasizing the advantages of using QEDS for safe digital identity verification, transaction validation, and decentralized consensus processes. Practical applications and obstacles, encompassing scalability, resource demands, and infrastructure preparedness, are also examined. This study highlights the transformative potential of Quantum Entanglement Distribution Systems (QEDS) in fortifying blockchain protocols against prospective quantum threats, thereby preserving trust, security, and resilience in digital transactions through the integration of quantum cryptography and blockchain technology.

摘要
