Next-Generation Blockchain: The Role of Quantum Protocols in Future Systems

This is a huge step forward in the security and optimisation of distributed ledger systems by integrating quantum protocols within blockchain technology. The role of quantum protocols in next-generation blockchain systems is investigated in this research paper. In general, this encompasses QKD, quantum-enhanced consensus algorithms, and quantum-resistant cryptographic protocols. The power of quantum computing will be used to give blockchain networks greater security, faster transaction speeds, and greater scalability. According to the results, quantum-enhanced proof-of-work and proof-of-stake algorithms have larger transaction times, computational complexity, and energy consumption than the traditional methods. Besides, data integrity is 100% guaranteed with the application of quantum key distribution, while NTRU and McEliece demonstrate excellent resistance to quantum attacks. Simulation results are quite impressive in terms of throughput and latency reduction. There are quite a number of reasons why applications of quantum protocols would confer great advantages to future blockchain systems in comparison with their classical variants. In this paper, a broad outline is offered as regards how quantum protocols can enhance the security and efficiency of blockchain.
