As the ageing population increases across the world, the incidence of degenerative spine disorders is on the rise. The treatment of degenerative spine disorders has a wide-spectrum approach ranging from targeted physiotherapy/strengthening exercises to decompression and fusion/replacement surgeries. Biological treatment of the intervertebral disc has advanced with the use of growth factors, mesenchymal stem cells, genetic transfers and nanotechnology. When the biological treatment is unsuitable, advanced minimally invasive techniques like endoscopy can be used to treat the degenerative spine disorders with good results.
