Advances in Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Incorporation into 3D-Printed Dosage Forms
摘要
With the use of active pharmaceutical components, three-dimensional printing, an emerging technology, can be used to create effective, dose-customized dosage forms. Despite its immense promise, 3DP has some drawbacks, and conventional drug production platforms are still the norm in the business. It seems widely agreed upon that 3DP technology will most certainly help personalized treatment, but it is not likely to displace traditional mass production methods. Contrarily, the 3DP approach might work well for manufacturing small batches as an adaptable manufacturing strategy that makes it possible to design adaptive clinical trials for preliminary clinical investigations. This chapter covers the latest developments in 3DP technologies for the integration of API, along with a review of the issues and concerns related to regulations.
