The increase in climate change due to human-based activities, the continuation of global warming, and the inability to prevent ecological degradation have made it necessary to follow new adaptive strategies and policies. For policymakers and world leaders, a sustainable future does not seem possible under current economic conditions. At this point, the circular economic model can be a solution for the sustainability of future generations. In the circular economy model, the efficient use of natural resources, effective waste management, recycling practices, and waste reduction are focused. Therefore, waste management has become the primary application of the circular economy on a global scale. Better results can be obtained in waste management and recycling practices with smart technologies. In this study, the importance and role of smart technologies in waste management and recycling practices in terms of circular economy will be discussed. The study focuses on exploring smart technologies used in waste management and recycling practices and examining international case studies. Market values and important indicators for smart waste technologies will also be examined in the study. It is thought that the study will be useful for readers as it includes both smart technologies and waste management issues, which are important elements of the circular economy.

摘要
