Structural Equation Modeling of Personality Traits and Organizational Citizenship Behavior
摘要
This chapter highlights use of meta-analysis and meta-analytic structural equation modeling to examine the connections between personality traits and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). According to certain inclusion criteria, such as considering OCB as a latent construct, operationalizing personality traits using a facet approach, and having a sufficient sample size, 15 research studies published between 2009 and 2024 were chosen. Significant relationships between OCB and conscientiousness (r = 0.329), extraversion (r = 0.199), agreeableness (r = 0.313), openness (r = 0.289), and neuroticism (r = −0.193) were found in the meta-analyses. The majority of analyses showed heterogeneity, and publication bias was not evident. Conscientiousness, openness, and agreeableness were found to be significantly linked with OCB, whereas neuroticism was negatively linked, according to meta-analytic structural equation modeling. Additionally, the modeling portrayed in the chapter shows that the personality traits themselves exhibit strong inter-correlations, indicating that they are part of a cohesive system. Therefore, the integrated system between organizational citizenship behaviors and personality is better highlighted in this chapter.
