Medication adherence and continuous care for chronic patients remain challenges in healthcare. This review explores the use of NFC technology and IoT systems in wearable medical devices like MediDose, an NFC smart bracelet, and MediBox, a digital drug dispenser. MediDose provides reminders, monitors vital signs, and retrieves medical information, while MediBox automates medicine dispensing with schedules and compliance feedback. Insights from 18 studies highlight how NFC-enabled wearables and IoT dispensers improve adherence, reduce costs, and provide real-world evidence to enhance clinical decision-making.
