Surgical excision is another approach for the management of lipedema. The technique involves the removal of the subcutaneous fat and lymphatic tissue from the affected areas. This procedure is also known as “liposuction” or “lipectomy” and has been used for the treatment of lipedema for several decades. However, there are limited studies that focus on the long-term outcomes of this procedure.
