Programming is crucial in today’s world, particularly in electronics. It forms the foundation for developing automation systems, microcontrollers, and electronic devices used in industrial applications. As technology and electronic systems gain widespread attention and use, programming has become essential for creating innovative solutions. However, selecting instructional tools or methods, such as slide presentations, sometimes fails to achieve the expected learning outcomes for students. One reason may be that students cannot fully comprehend the material the instructor is attempting to convey. In some cases, students may hesitate to ask questions to gain further understanding, or the instructional process may slow down when they do ask questions. This disruption can lead to ineffective teaching and learning, and the instructor may need help giving all students equal attention. This research developed a learning model integrating ChatGPT to support learning and enhance programming skills among vocational students in a microcontroller course. The research findings indicated that students showed improved learning progress and a positive perception of using integrating generative AI in education. It helped promote effective teaching and learning outcomes, creating a more efficient educational system.
