With the opportunities and challenges stemming from artificial intelligence developments and its integration into teachers’ education, AI literacy has become a key concern for educators. Utilizing quality AI literacy instruments for teachers is crucial for understanding and promoting AI literacy development. This systematic review assessed the scope of AI literacy research from 71 articles in the Scopus and Web of Science databases. This review focuses on AI literacy research areas, research methodologies, and theoretical frameworks. In addition, it offers recommendations for future research on teachers’ AI literacy research based on these three aspects.
