Analysis of the Effectiveness of Cyber Security Education Employing Practical Exercises at the National Institute of Technology (KOSEN)
摘要
Cyber security threats have been increasing in recent years. In addition, a shortage of cyber security personnel has become an issue in Japan. Under those circumstances, Japan started making efforts to secure security personnel training through practical exercises rather than traditional classroom learning. Although previous studies have shown the effectiveness of cyber security education through practical exercises, it is not clear whether such education is effective when implemented on multiple subjects and in multiple groups. In this study, the effectiveness of practical exercises was analyzed based on practical exercises on subjects different from those in the previous studies and conducting among different groups. As a result of the analysis, practical exercises were found to have significant learning effects when applied to several subjects. In addition, when practical exercises were conducted with a different group than in the previous study, learning effects were observed. Thus, practical cybersecurity exercises were found to be a universally effective educational method.
