Ergonomic Risk Factors Caused by Manual Material Handling in Logistics Operations in the Automotive Industry in Northwest México

About 8 out of 10 people in the United States have had lower back problems at some point in their lives. On the other hand, in Mexico, the fact that an operator has a medical consultation caused by the same symptom implies at least three days off due to disabilities. At the same time, the workplace investigation takes place once the format has been sent. The risk factors investigated in the present investigation are ergonomic types related to manual material handling, which most automotive companies of Hermosillo have an ergonomic study in the productive areas. Still, they need it in the internal logistics areas. The aim of this paper is to perform a diagnosis on a sample of automotive companies to provide these companies with the vision of risk levels and factors present in their workstations and consequently be able to relate the most common risk related to manual load handling.
