This study investigates the effects of seat rotation in automated vehicles and analyzes postures and spatial requirements using an experimental and digital approach. The results show that a guided seating posture only marginally increases discomfort. A particularly promising approach is the footrest, which significantly reduces perceived discomfort to a minimum. The comparison of the experimental data and simulation results shows a very good correlation for the ergonomic design of this type of seat configuration.
