This project introduces an image recognition system specialized in identifying and classifying South Indian Dance Forms, including Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Odissi, and Kathakali. The system accurately recognizes mudras (hand gestures) in images, offering detailed insights into the dance form and cultural aspect behind the mudras. Our approach combines deep convolutional neural networks for image recognition with audio and textual explanations as output. The system includes a user-friendly mobile application for capturing dance images and receiving instant identifications and explanations. Our project aims to make South Indian dance traditions more accessible and engaging for enthusiasts and professionals, promoting cultural awareness and education.
