This study classifies Twitter (now X) posts based on the presence or absence of approval desire using generative AI and verifies the classification accuracy. Additionally, it analyzes how the presence of approval desire affects the sentiment, polarity, and linguistic characteristics of posts. Furthermore, the study explores the characteristics of two types of approval desire: the desire to earn praise, which reflects the wish to be admired and liked by others, and the desire to avoid denial, which represents the wish to avoid being ridiculed or rejected. Moreover, the posting tendencies of users with a high degree of approval desire are analyzed. The results indicate that posts expressing approval desire tend to contain more positive emotions, such as “joy” and “expectation.” Additionally, the desire to earn praise is strongly associated with positive emotions, whereas the desire to avoid denial is more closely related to negative emotions. Furthermore, users with a high level of approval desire exhibit a strong correlation between their frequency of posts with intense emotional expressions and the number of posts reflecting a desire to earn praise.
