A Comparison Study on Mechanical Properties by Using Polyesters and Polypropylene Fiber Concrete

The majority of construction projects currently employ concrete, and in the near future, no other options will be accessible. In order to extend the service life of any structure, better quality concrete with stronger mechanical qualities and a longer lifespan must be produced because enormous volumes of concrete are being utilized for new construction projects. Its intrinsic breakability and the need for tensile strength in every concrete structure are unchangeable. In these conditions, fiber-reinforced concrete (FRC) seems like a workable alternative. This research study's main goal is to alter concrete's brittle properties through the practical application of polyester and polypropylene fiber (pp) as secondary reinforcement. In this experiment, concrete grades M-40 and M-25 were used. Consequently, the concrete was mixed with varying amounts of polyester and polypropylene fiber. such as 0.32, 0.37, 0.42, and 0.47, measured in that order by the weight of the concrete. A number of carefully regulated laboratory studies were carried out to look into the use of polyester and polypropylene fiber in concrete. Only the basic concrete mix is evaluated for both compressive and flexural strength in the first sample. Compressive and flexural strengths of the second sample are assessed once more following the addition of polypropylene fiber to the concrete mixture at the amounts of0.32,0.37,0.42, and 0.47%, respectively. In the third concrete sample, the polyester and polypropylene fibers underwent the same tests. It illustrates how fiber can improve the quality of concrete.
