Although there has been extensive research on geological and physical characteristics, studies on TBM attitudes are limited. Currently, the laser positioning system experiences significant delays in capturing the TBM attitude. Operators adjust the TBM attitude manually, processing very limited data and selecting TBM parameters based on experience, which prevents them from anticipating future TBM attitudes. That makes operations short-sighted. Consequently, the wealth of time series data from TBM sensors underscores the urgent need to develop an accurate TBM attitude prediction approach.
