A Qualitative Study of the Impact of Technology on Earthmoving Equipment Operations Safety at Construction Sites

The advancement of technologies has significantly changed earthmoving equipment operation safety. This paper examines how automation influences safety and accident causation in earthmoving equipment operation on construction sites. Experienced safety professionals were interviewed to gain insights into their views on the integration of these technologies into daily operations. Thematic analysis was conducted to interpret the data from these interviews. The study aims to illustrate how technological advancements are reshaping risk profiles and highlight potential gaps in current safety management frameworks. By focusing on the practical experiences of safety practitioners, the research seeks to inform future strategies for accident prevention and safety enhancement in construction earthmoving operations.
