Since the concept of BIM was first introduced, it has been widely adopted in construction projects worldwide, becoming essential at every stage. However, challenges remain in its effective application, primarily due to inefficient data management. The most crucial aspect of BIM is data, but managing it can be cumbersome due to its complexity and disorganization. A systematic data structure is essential to address these issues, which led to the proposal of the efficient BIM information platform, known as “Kace BIM.” This platform, formed using the IFC format and incorporating state-of-the-art technologies, complies with ISO standards and can be adapted for various applications with additional tools. It consists of hierarchical BIM data and enables management of 4D, 5D, and 7D aspects with a digital twin. A case study involving an expressway construction project demonstrates the platform’s practical effectiveness in construction management.
