A Case Study: Landslide Mitigation at KM 63 Near Chamba Tunnel on Rishikesh-Dharasu Road (NH-34), Uttarakhand
摘要
Landslides, being critical in nature, are very common in hilly region and is influenced by several parameters. The frequency of landslides is increasing nowadays, due to more and more human interventions. The Himalayan region is more vulnerable due to its young and dynamic nature, complex geology, young rock mass, heavy rainfall, and climate change. The present study attempts to analyze the stability of slope of about 47.5 m height in a landslide-prone area near Chamba Tunnel at KM 63 on Rishikesh–Dharasu Road (NH-34), Uttarakhand. The rock mass present in the area is quartzite rock which is meta-sedimentary rock bounded between two major tectonic assemblages. Expertise in rockfall mitigation sector, TechFab India performed slope stability analysis and provided the slope stabilization measures, namely, self-drilling anchors (Tech anchors) of 6 m length spaced at 2.5 m c/c in both directions along the slope and high tensile wire mesh (Techrhombus as a primary mesh) having tensile strength greater than 100 kN/m and double twisted wire mesh as a secondary mesh for surficial/local protection, as a flexible fascia. 2D limit equilibrium with Bishop slip circle method is used for design analysis with SLIDE 2D of slope and global stability for overall slope was checked. Hence, the slope is stabilized by achieving required Factor of Safety (FoS) in both seismic and static conditions.
