This study presents the slope stability analysis of Tamta earthen dam, situated near the village Pathalgaon in Chhattisgarh. The dam is designed to irrigate an area of 891 ha Kharif and 769 ha Rabi crop. The length of the bund is 1050 m. The earthwork surrounding the sluice barrel eroding continuously by which the earth has been depressed about 1.00–1.50 m at some places. The pitching and boulder toe has been damaged at various reaches. A cavity has been observed in the upstream slope of size about 10 m diameter and 1.5 m deep. Due to this cavity, the dam is not being used in its full capacity. It is also a signal of danger for the stability of the dam. Hence, required to do the study for its stability in the present condition and repair works required so that it is being used in its full capacity. In order to ensure the safety of the dam against stability, two-dimensional slope stability analysis has been carried out using the computer-aided software GeoStudio 2018.

摘要
