With the rapid advancements in automation technology, human life has significantly improved across various aspects. Automated systems are now the preferred choice over manual ones, especially with the increasing number of internet users. The Internet of Things (IoT) has emerged as a pivotal technology, playing a crucial role not only in daily life but also in education. IoT facilitates information access and task completion while individuals are engaged in other activities. In this paper, we present a cutting-edge smart home system that integrates advanced features focusing on both energy efficiency and security, distinguishing it from existing solutions in the market. Modern residences are transitioning from conventional, manually operated appliances to intelligent IoT-enabled devices that can be managed remotely. Currently, most home automation systems are confined to individual devices rather than providing comprehensive IoT integration for the entire household. Consequently, our focus should be on IoT-enabling entire homes, not just individual gadgets. We present a design that utilizes the NodeMCU (ESP8266) microcontroller in conjunction with relays to remotely control electrical switches through a server built where the users can authenticate and manage switches via a web application interface. Unlike conventional smart home systems, our solution offers a comprehensive approach that goes beyond mere automation. It incorporates machine learning algorithms to analyze patterns of energy consumption and user behavior, enabling proactive adjustments to minimize energy wastage without compromising comfort. In summary, our project represents a significant advancement in the field of smart home technology, offering a solution that prioritizes energy efficiency and security, setting it apart from existing alternatives.
