The advancement of medical technologies has made hearing possible for those with limited hearing aid benefit through cochlear implantation. Aural habilitation refers to therapy focused on congenital and early childhood hearing loss in pre-lingually deafened children with the intent of obtaining auditory-oral skills for communication. Aural rehabilitation refers to therapy aimed at post-lingually deaf and hard of hearing adults, who are regaining auditory skills. This chapter aims to provide the reader tools for baselining and tracking progress with aural (re)habilitation, resources for aural (re)habilitation offered at little-to-no cost, and considerations to ponder while navigating the journey to functional auditory-oral communication.

摘要
