Cochlear Implantation (CI) is recognized as the most effective surgical treatment for those with hearing loss. As candidacy criteria have expanded over time, the number of CI surgeries has increased. With advancements in implant technology and surgical techniques, CI surgery has become a safe and routine procedure for skilled surgeons, though it can occasionally lead to complications. This chapter describes the risks and complications associated with a CI surgery.
