Localizing Climate Action in Latin American and Caribbean Cities
摘要
Focusing on local climate action, this précis underscores the benefits of a systems approach to the delivery and maintenance of sustainable urban infrastructure. Specifically, the précis identifies and submits to subnational actors (viz., mayors and city managers) five recommendations to promote an energy—housing—mobility framework through local and practical pathways: (a) make more widespread use of clean energy; (b) raise energy efficiency; (c) increase and decentralize the number of clean producers; (d) improve demand management; and (e) hone strategies for planning, designing, and building. The précis also showcases multilevel governanceGovernance arrangements and pilot programs and projects that Latin American and Caribbean cities have evolved, developed, and rolled out.
