Use of Copper Nanomaterials Against Nematodes
摘要
Nanoparticles (NPs) have recently been used in agriculture to cure soil of its polluted state and function as a pesticide because of their non-toxic and eco-friendly nature. Phytonematodes are significant causes of crop loss all over the world. The chapter encircles different reports of copper nanoparticles, which are biodegradable, water-soluble, permeable, and thermally stable and have the potential to function as an effective nematocidal agent in plant pathologies. NPs act differently than elemental copper in their nano form. Nanoformulation of copper improves its activity against nematodes. Different forms of nanoparticles, including encapsulated, caged, and nano forms, are reported to be used in agriculture as nematicides. The potential of copper nanoparticles, both inorganic and organically derived metallic oxide NPs having nematicidal activity has been discussed.
