Over the past few decades, rising energy demand, severe environmental impacts, and resource depletion have driven research into alternative energy sources. Industrialized countries have begun to address the energy crisis with considerable measures and targets, but a growing population is driving energy demand at an unprecedented rate. Biofuels from renewable resources are needed to address growing issues. Biofuels from fats and oils are a sustainable, renewable energy source. It uses abundant natural resources to replace fossil fuels. This process converts lipid-rich feedstocks into biodiesel and renewable diesel, lowering greenhouse gas emissions and promoting a low-carbon economy. This technique uses natural oils to give hope for renewable fossil fuel alternatives. Biofuels may also be effortlessly integrated into existing infrastructure, making them a realistic and eco-friendly energy future option. Biofuels from oils could help create a greener energy future. Microalgae, oils derived from plants, along with fats from animals, are utilized to make these fuels. Biodiesel is made from transesterified vegetable oils, while bioethanol comes from corn and sugarcane. This study examines the complex process of turning lipid-rich substrates into biodiesel and sustainable diesel. An eco-friendly alternative to fossil fuels, these natural oils undergo transesterification and hydrotreatment. Transesterification, hydrotreatment, and pyrolysis are covered in this abstract for biofuel synthesis from fats and oils. Biofuel characteristics, environmental benefits, feedstock variety, and economic viability are examined. The article also discusses feedstock supply, technology, and policy issues. This report emphasizes the need for innovation and regulatory support to advance the oils and fats biofuel industry for a sustainable energy future.
