Slope Stability Assessment in Cut Slope: Kanti Lokpath Road Section Case Study
摘要
This paper assesses the stability of cut slopes along Kanti Lokpath using Slope/W (Geo-studio) 2018 software, highlighting the significant impact of water levels on slope stability. Field and lab data show that while the slopes are stable in dry conditions with FOS values of 1.698 and 1.291, they become dangerously unstable when saturated, with FOS dropping to 0.809 and 0.664 for site 1 and site 2, respectively. To address this, the study proposes mitigation measures such as retaining walls and soil nailing, which improve stability, raising the FOS to safe levels. The findings underscore the importance of comprehensive geotechnical assessments and proactive slope stabilization strategies for infrastructure development in Nepal's challenging terrain.
