Impact of HRM Practices on Employees and Challenges of Operational Excellence: A Pilot Study on Pharmaceutical Industry

India has re-evaluated their current role in the pharmaceutical industry and explored possibilities for consolidation and strengthening its position related to economic and geopolitical shift for attaining self-sufficiency in competitive pharmaceutical industry globally. The pharmaceutical industry is impelled by employees and their performance leads towards the growth of the organization. The selection of employees is important and they are selected by the HR officials of any organization. It is important to understand about operational excellence in organization to have clarity about the HR practices. The research design is descriptive in nature as it describes the views of employees of selected pharmaceutical companies. A structured questionnaire has been designed based on demographic profile, HR practices being followed in selected pharmaceutical companies and operational excellence. A sample of 101 employees has been considered in the study. The data has been analysed through SPSS 20.0. Application of ANOVA indicated there is a significant association between HR practices and operational excellence.
