This study examines the challenges of adopting a circular economy in the mattress industry, a sector increasingly scrutinized for its environmental impact and waste production. A circular economy promotes sustainable production and consumption, aiming to minimize waste and extend product lifecycles. However, the mattress industry encounters specific barriers that impede this transition. The research seeks to identify and prioritize these challenges, offering insights into the factors that obstruct the adoption of circular economy practices. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study combines quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with key stakeholders, including manufacturers, retailers, and recyclers. It initially identifies significant challenges such as technological limitations, regulatory hurdles, supply chain difficulties, and low consumer awareness. These challenges are then prioritized based on their impact and the feasibility of overcoming them. The findings reveal that technological issues, especially those related to recycling and material recovery, are among the most significant obstacles. Furthermore, regulatory uncertainties and lack of supportive policies add complexity to the shift toward circular practices. The study suggests that improving consumer awareness and promoting eco-design could significantly enhance the adoption of circular economy principles in the mattress industry. By offering practical recommendations, this research aims to facilitate the industry's transition to a more sustainable and circular model.

摘要
