Nusselt Number and Thermal Hydraulic Performance of Rough Duct Using V-shape: Experimentally
摘要
This is commonly known that using different kinds of artificial frictional ducts can improve the heat transfer coefficient (HTC) of a solar air heater (SAH) duct. This research examines the HTC and friction factor (FF) behavior of a duct which is rough surface by employing frequent v-profile ribs. These ribs are set on a side of the duct, either with or without a gap, at an angle of 60° toward the air flow. The duct’s width to height ratio has been taken eight and surface roughness of the duct is taken 10, while 0.03 is relative roughness height and 60° an angle of striking. A comparable study has been performed to predict the behavior of HTC and FF with and without rough surface of the duct at keeping same parameter and Reynolds number up to 13,000. The outcome shows the Nusselt number and FF increase of 257 percentages and 285 percentages, respectively, contrast to the plane duct.
