With China’s growing awareness of marine resource exploration, utilization, and protection, and guided by the vision of building a strong maritime nation and safeguarding national maritime rights and interests, the research, design, and construction of research vessels, though starting relatively late, have rapidly advanced. China’s research vessels have evolved from retrofitting old equipment to independently designing and developing world-class vessels.
