Securing 4-State QR Codes Using a Hybrid Encryption Model
摘要
Encryption and decryption techniques have an important position in secure data transfer. Hybrid encryption is based on using various cryptographic techniques combined together to accomplish the confidentiality, integrity, availability (CIA) triad. Traditional 2-state QR codes compress data into binary format with fixed storage capacity and security, making them susceptible to a wide variety of attacks. In contrast to that, 4-state QR codes (4SQR) have increased capacity and flexibility and can be used in more advanced applications. However, this growing capacity also presents more risks to security. This work introduces a conceptual encryption model to increase the security of 4SQR codes based on a hybrid method: data encryption via AES, secure key transfer through RSA, and efficient key exchange through ECC. Using these cryptographic methods, the proposed method seeks to counter security loopholes and implement a more secure and efficient encryption-decryption mechanism for 4SQR codes.
