MT tools are increasingly used for the purpose of learning; they also play a crucial role in preserving and promoting resource-poor or endangered languages through translations and by making available learning materials. The paper reports on how a machine translation tool can be used for learning and acquisition of the low-resource language. This tool translates Sindhi (Devanagari script) into Hindi and vice versa. In order to demonstrate the utility of this MT tool, a training program for language learning was performed for freshmen. Tests were conducted prior to and following the training program to evaluate their improvement.
