As a complement to the previous chapters, we want to dedicate one chapter specifically to mention some cases of international space science collaboration. Of course, we cannot analyze all possible cases, as that would require several books to do so. Moreover, there are several books and reports available dealing with cooperative space science missions, such as the book by Bonnet and Manno (1994), the NRC-ESF study in 1998, and the Earth System Science Center (ESSC)-ESF’s position paper in 2000. Nevertheless, most discussions focus on European cooperation with NASA and pay no attention to other space science actors. During the last two decades though, space science activities have flourished in other countries, creating new opportunities for collaborative endeavors.

摘要
