From Analysis to Action: Categorizing and Addressing IT Project Failures for Enhanced Success Rates
摘要
This study delves into the pervasive challenge of IT application failures, scrutinizing the underlying causes that jeopardize project success. By synthesizing insights from a wealth of empirical studies and scholarly research, the research constructs a comprehensive framework for understanding the multifaceted nature of these failures. It emphasizes the intricate interplay between technical difficulties, human errors, and external pressures, asserting the need for a holistic approach to project management, active stakeholder engagement, and adaptable risk management strategies. Through the meticulous categorization of 61 identified failure reasons into distinct frameworks, the paper provides a granular analysis of the prevalent challenges, ranging from flawed estimations and scope creep to resource inadequacies and communication breakdowns. This inquiry not only enriches the academic dialogue on IT project failures but also equips project managers and stakeholders with actionable strategies to navigate and mitigate the complexities of technology project execution, aiming to bolster project success rates and foster organizational resilience.
